Oil Minister Rafael Ramírez: we defeated Exxon Mobil

Caracas, March 18 ABN.- ‘We defeated Exxon Mobil,’ the Minister of People’s Power for Energy and Oil and President of Pdvsa, Rafael Ramírez, said Tuesday concerning the Exxon mobil’s shady intentions of freezing $12 billion on Venezuelan asset.

In a television address broadcast through the state-run TV station VTV, Minister Ramírez said: ‘All the country has to know that the court’s decision is a 100% victory for Pdvsa. We can said that we completely defeated Exxon Mobil in the court of London,’ said Ramírez.

Ramírez explained that ‘we defeated in the court of London. The decision favors 100% Venezuela. Exxon Mobil’s arguments were rejected and the judge will issue a summary of his decision in a hour and next Thursday he will publish a deep report.’

Concerning the damages caused by Exxon Mobil against Venezuela, the national government and Pdvsa, Ramírez said that they will plan a counter-lawsuit; however, ‘we will wait for the judge’s arguments in order to act. We will reserve everything we can make to repair the name of our country, of our oil company (Pdvsa). But, this is strictly legal and we have to wait for the complete decision issued by the judge,’ he said.

‘The most important is that the decision favor us in 100%; all the judge’s arguments favor the elements we exposed. Furthermore, any Exxon Mobil’s intentions of freezing our assets have to be lifted and the pressure over the international bank.’

Concerning the media war against Venezuela, Ramírez said: ‘Once again, it was put in evidence all the strategies and it was dismantled all the media manipulation carried out in the international field, which, unfortunately counts with national allies who are against of the interest of our country.’
